Dandelion’s LAVA Model

Dandelion built the LAVA model to help define the way we respect and work with existing roles in the advertiser relationship; speaking to the four-way partnership between Dandelion, agencies, our vendor partners and advertisers. With Dandelion as your licensor, we work to be a frictionless partner alongside both agencies and vendors to ensure we’re creating the most impactful outcome for advertisers.

Creating the LAVA Model

Founded in 2017, Dandelion has worked purposefully with clients across Canada and the United States. Originally offering a standard service model with tiers for self-serve, support and managed, our agencies looked to us for reassurance in the potential case of conflict of interest on client pitches. 

 

In 2022, Dandelion’s leadership team had the executive-level support to lean in on this nuance as a differentiator, identifying that the core strength of our services would be magnified by creating a simpler, non-competitive partner model that didn’t currently exist — that of the tech stack curator, simply providing platform licensing, platform-integration projects, and platform training.

In order to commit to the collaborative model we wanted to embrace, we plotted out our LAVA model, an acronym for the 4 partners in the typical marketing relationship: Licensor, Agency, Vendor Partners and Advertiser. Not only did we define the model, but we adapted our services towards non-competition with agencies by ceasing to offer managed media buying services — opting to provide a transition model instead of a managed model. 

 

With Dandelion as your licensor, the LAVA model encourages respect of the equal responsibilities, allowing for the highest degree of undistracted work, while nurturing impactful advertising relationships.
